Located in Burton-on-Trent, The Dial is a restaurant that garners praise for its inviting atmosphere and attentive staff. Many customers highlight the delicious food and broad variety of dishes, showcasing everything from flavorful vegan options to hearty meat selections.
Dan Palk enjoyed the exemplary service and quality steaks but noted some minor inconsistencies with side dish options. On the other hand, CJ praised the accessibility of vegan choices, particularly the tasty vegan burger, though some tapas fell short in flavor. Claire de la Lune enthused over the cocktail offerings and cozy ambiance, emphasizing dishes like sweet potato and chili soup and teriyaki duck gyoza as delightful.
Pregory Geck commended the fresh ingredients and reasonable pricing, adding to the overall positive vibe. The restaurant’s décor and attention to details contribute to a charming dining experience, although some patrons, including Olly Roberts, pointed out temperature issues and slower service as areas for improvement.
Despite these minor drawbacks, The Dial remains a popular choice for those seeking a mix of quality food, a vibrant atmosphere, and friendly service in the heart of Burton-on-Trent.

Very nice setting and exemplary service. The food was very good, without being amongst the best places I have visited. Couple of niggles would be having the choice of chips or salad with your steak, but after choosing salad seeing the steak comes with salad on the plate anyway so you may aswell go for chips, rather than order an extra side dish of potatoes as I did. Also, the restaurant is very hot inside, could do with turning the temperature down a bit !!! Highlights included the meatballs starter that was delicious and the steaks were of good quality and were cooked very well. The wine list was also very good.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, vegan options are also available. The vegan burger tasted very good. It came with a side of fries and onion rings, as well as a bit of salad. The couliflower tapas, on the other hand, didn't have much taste. The staff was always available and attentive. The order arrived within a reasonable time. Most of the tables are inside, but they also have a terrace area upstairs. Might be a bit pricey for some.

Great cocktails and delicious food in cozy atmosphere. I really enjoyed my stay in The Dial. - The staff was very attentive and friendly - Great cocktail selection (with nice mocktail options) - Broad variety of dishes. I tried their sweet potato and chili soup as well as their teriyaki duck gyoza. Both were absolutely delicious. - Super cozy interior with lots of interesting details

Fantastic experience. Very good atmosphere, nice staff, tasty food (I believe most of them from fresh NOT from frozen!) reasonably priced ( except that 0.33 coke ) and well kept, spacious restroom. All together I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good time, superb food and polite staff with table service not mobile app order, which is optional.

This was my second visit, and once again, the food was absolutely excellent—consistent in both quality and flavor. The atmosphere is stylish and modern, creating a great dining environment. The selection of beers and IPAs is impressive, with noticeable attention to quality. That said, the experience wasn’t perfect—there seemed to be an issue with the air conditioning, which made the space a bit uncomfortable. Additionally, service was on the slower side. Despite these minor issues, it’s still a fantastic spot overall. I’ll definitely be coming back!

One of the best restaurants in Burton-on-Trent in my opinion. The food is great with a large menu. Today we visited for Sunday lunch. The staff are friendly, polite and professional.

I love the food here. I've only been three or four times but have never had a bad experience. The steak I had was cooked perfectly. Should definitely try the maltesers cheesecake! It is a little expensive but it's nice as a special occasion or a treat meal. Staff are friendly.

Visited for Father's Day Sunday lunch having been here a number of times before over the years. The service was as attentive and professional as it's always been and the food quality excellent as ever. The small plates / tapas addition to the menu since we last came here is a brilliant idea as you can have one tapas dish as a starter if you wish. I did, and my mum did. The scallops with pea puree and prawns pil-pil were fantastic. The main courses offered a range of traditional Sunday roasts with lots of vegetables on the side. The lamb and beef are offered cooked slightly pink, or more well done if you prefer. The vegetarian options and the fish dish looked appealing as well. I recommend the upgrade to Dauphinoise potatoes if you're having a roast. We were given a 2 hour sitting for our booking and the pacing of the orders coming out was really good, plenty of time between the starters and the mains so you didn't feel bloated. We could have fitted in a dessert or cheese and biscuits in the time available but just opted for some coffees as we were all full up. I don't have much of a sweet tooth nowadays so to have just over 20 options for a savoury starter was absolute heaven. I have had the desserts in the past though, I remember the panna cotta and the creme brulee (both still featured on the menu) being excellent. My only regret is not having enough capacity to demolish the cheese board :) My parents were very impressed with the latest menus and are already talking about getting the bus into Burton one Tuesday so they can try the tapas special offer and the sangria.
